Steven J. Donnelly

Steven J. Donnelly, M. D.

Dr. Steven Donnelly joined Eye Doctors of Lancaster in January 2015. A native of Philadelphia, Dr. Donnelly received his medical degree from Temple University where he also met his beloved wife, Diane. After completing his ophthalmology residency and serving as chief resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, he ran a busy comprehensive ophthalmology service at Fort Stewart, Georgia. While caring for patients there, Dr. Donnelly also jointly supervised the construction and implementation of the Army’s 9th Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Center. During his time on active duty as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps, he performed over 2000 laser procedures (LASIK and PRK) to assist soldiers with their combat readiness. After being honorably discharged in July 2010, he served as director of surgical services at Boland Eye Center in Savannah, Georgia for over 4 years. During this time, he was elated to experience God’s gift of two beautiful daughters. In 2014 through the Christian Eye Network, Dr. Donnelly connected with Dr. Ted Jones at Eye Doctors of Lancaster and took the leap of faith to move his family from Savannah to East Hempfield Township. Dr. Donnelly is delighted to call Lancaster his home now. He is passionate about serving the great people of Lancaster County, but he also travels frequently to developing countries around the world to provide cataract surgery to his impoverished brothers and sisters who lack access to the care available in the USA.
